From the moment we heard about this event, we knew that we had to go and see it and it was well worth it. As part of their fund-raising to help Bristol Children's Hospital, Aardman Animations and Gromit's Grand Appeal put their heads together and came up with this public art exhibition of 80 five foot tall Gromits, designed and painted by well-known artists, authors, public figures and celebrities to be dotted around Bristol (and one in Paddington).
The resulting trail turns into a bit of a treasure hunt as it is possible to walk around Bristol, alongside hundreds of other treasure hunters, and find each Gromit on the map.
I wish there was space to put all the photos up, but here are some of my favourites:
This Gromit came with a new jazz tune composed by Jules Holland.
Why are the Gromits here? Because they Arr!
Buzz Light Year Gromit from Pixar.
A dog which is also a fish!
Of course, One Direction had their very own Gromit designed by Zayn Malik.
And finally, the beautiful Cath Kidston rose-covered Gromit.
It was really an amazing way to walk round much of Bristol city centre and beyond, and to help raise money for a good cause at the same time.
There are a few more photos on my facebook page.
